What Speede does
Speede measures internet download speed, upload speed and latency. It shows network information and lets you select Cloudflare or a nearby Measurement Lab (M-Lab) server. The first production release is ad-free, has no analytics or crash-reporting SDK, and does not require an account.
Information on your device
Speede reads your active connection type, local IP address and, when available, mobile network operator name. It saves your theme, chosen server and acknowledgment of the network-data notice in private app storage. Results and fetched network information are held in memory; Speede does not maintain a server-side account or a saved test-history database. Android cloud backup is disabled. Speede does not request access to GPS, contacts, photos, files, microphone or camera, and does not collect an advertising ID.
Network services and collection
After you acknowledge the in-app notice, Speede contacts Cloudflare (speed.cloudflare.com) to display your public IP, IPinfo (ipinfo.io) to identify your internet provider, and the M-Lab locate service (locate.measurementlab.net) to find nearby test servers. These providers receive your public IP address and standard connection/request information and may derive approximate location from the IP address. Speede uses HTTPS and secure WebSockets for these requests. No precise GPS location is collected by Speede.
Speed tests and M-Lab public research
Tests send and receive generated network traffic, not your personal files or browsing history. If you select Automatic or an M-Lab server, your test may run on M-Lab. M-Lab records the public IP address, test time, network/protocol details and performance measurements, including throughput and latency. M-Lab publishes its measurement data publicly and retains experiment data indefinitely for internet research. It is not anonymous merely because Speede does not ask for your name. Anyone may access or copy M-Lab's public dataset. Speede cannot promise removal of data already published or copied by others.
Select Cloudflare in the Test server dropdown before testing if you do not want test results submitted to M-Lab's public dataset. Cloudflare tests still send your public IP address and test traffic to Cloudflare. Nearby server discovery can still contact M-Lab's locate service; selecting Cloudflare prevents an M-Lab measurement test, not every request to M-Lab.
Purposes and sharing
Network and IP information is used to display your connection, discover servers, run measurements, and protect and operate provider services. M-Lab also uses and shares measurement records for public internet-performance research. Entegrators does not operate a separate telemetry endpoint for Speede, sell the app's user data, or use this release for personalized advertising. Third-party providers process data under their own policies; their retention and processing practices may differ from those of the app.
Retention, deletion and choices
Clear Speede's app storage or uninstall to remove locally saved settings. In-memory test results disappear when the app process ends or they are reset. No account deletion is needed because Speede has no accounts. Provider logs and M-Lab research records are outside Speede's local storage. M-Lab states that experiment data is retained indefinitely and published publicly; clearing or uninstalling Speede does not delete it. For provider-held data and any rights or requests available under applicable law, use the provider's privacy contact. Contact Entegrators for questions about Speede; we do not promise deletion of independent public research datasets. Decline the first-run notice to exit before Speede's network lookups begin. Opening an external website or sending support email separately exposes the information you provide to your browser, mail provider and recipient.

Children
Speede is a general-audience network utility and is not directed to children under 13. Do not submit personal information through support if you are under the age permitted in your country; a parent or guardian can contact us. No age or date-of-birth data is collected by the app.
Security and international processing
The app uses encrypted transport and Android private storage for its settings. Provider infrastructure and public research data may be processed or accessed internationally. No service can guarantee absolute security. Public M-Lab research records should be treated as public after submission.
Changes and contact
